Get Karst on your phone

Karst runs in any browser, but installing it gives you a full-screen app that works offline — so recording a breadcrumb trail keeps going even with no signal underground.

Direct install — not through the Play Store (yet). About 1 MB.

  1. Tap Download Karst.apk on your Android phone.
  2. Open the downloaded file; if prompted, allow “install unknown apps” for your browser.
  3. Tap Install, then open Karst from your app drawer.

Because it's sideloaded, Android will warn that it's from an “unknown source” — that's expected for an app installed outside the Play Store.

iPhone & everything else

Add to your home screen

No download needed — install the web app straight from your browser.

  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
  • Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu → Install app / Add to Home screen.
  • Desktop (Chrome/Edge): click the install icon in the address bar.

The installed web app and the APK both point at the same secure Karst service — your account and saved caves are identical on either.

Prefer the browser? Karst works great there too — just start exploring.
